PROTO Gallery presents ALLIANCE, an Artsy Online Exclusive Exhibition by internationally acclaimed street artist CEAZE. In this, his first exhibition with the gallery, CEAZE is presenting a series of six new compositions, executed on wood panels, using enamel and other paint media, applied with a variety of techniques to create layering and variegated textures. These new paintings have their origin in CEAZE’s history as a graffiti writer and muralist.

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, CEAZE was introduced to graffiti and hip-hop culture at an early age, and soon began to develop his own style, which is most informed by the relationship of graffiti to architecture. He was influenced by crews such as MSK and AWR, which rose to prominence and drastically altered street art at the same time CEAZE himself was starting to paint. His imagery was included in the wildly popular Tony Hawk Pro Skater and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 video games, the latter of which is considered one of the best video games of all time.

His graffiti and paintings have been presented both globally and within the United States, with international exhibitions in Japan, Taiwan, Spain, and South Korea. He recently completed a mural for the Dave Chapelle’s Party event and exhibition at the House of Vans in Brooklyn, NY, and a mural at the W Hotel in Seoul, South Korea. He is an active collaborator with the MSK and The Seventh Letter crews, and has been involved with several brands including 55 DSL, Frank 151, BMW, Toy Tokyo, and GQ. Recent gallery exhibitions include Tempt One, Known Gallery, Los Angeles, CA, TWFSL, Known Gallery, Los Angeles, CA, and The Reveal, at Broadfoot Gallery in Jacksonville, FL. His work has been published in numerous books and magazines. CEAZE is based in the New York City region.
